I can sync with my iPhone again!

Today I woke up at 3:30 after about 6.5 hours of sleep. I worked today for about 9 hours, after which I called the Wisconsin Unemployment compensation hotline to file a claim a few weeks ago.

After my phone call, I decided to take a look at the family computer to see if I could attempt to get my iPhone to be able to sync once again with my iTunes library. I accidentally deleted the Windows usbfliter.sys file, so I went through a Windows 8 refresh. After I installed Microsoft Office, I downloaded and installed iTunes once again and this time the issue of syncing was resolved.

Some time this week I will need to get around to updating the computer to Windows 8.1 and installing the “better” antivirus protection.

Fillings

Today I woke up at the early time of 3:30. I was awake but I wasn’t ready to go to work quite yet. I worked today for 9 hours, one day closer to the weekend.

I tried taking a nap today, but was once again unsuccessful. I had an appointment with the dentist today to get my cavities filled.

A Summer of Fun

I woke up at 6am on Saturday after not getting to bed until almost 11pm on Friday.

I watched both National Treasure movies in the morning before I went to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church to play their organ for about 2 hours. I love the organs at St. Joe’s, there are three there, you can play both of the organs separately or play both at once as if they were one. I also love the acoustics at that beautiful church, it almost reminds me of the Tabernacle on Temple Square because of the fact that you could hear a pin drop with out the aid of a microphone.

Half day Friday

I woke up today at 3:30, got ready for the day and worked for 6 hours.

After work I fed the rabbit, who is starting to enjoy my visits. I also went to St Mary’s Catholic Church to play their organ. I rehearsed several of my Sousa march arrangements and got a few compliments for them.

After that, I took a shower and went to sports night where we played chair soccer the whole time. The first round was exciting, but the last two became quite dull very fast when everybody puppy guarded their chairs. We went to Walmart afterwards to pick up some supplies for tomorrow’s branch activity.

Transit of Allen

Today, I woke up at 4am again. I was a little tired, but thankfully it’s hump day, only 2 more days left this week! I worked again today for 9 hours.

Today after work I did a little bit of grocery shopping which included buying bananas and yogurt for making some homemade smoothies (yum!). I also started and finished an arrangement of John Philip Sousa’s “Transit of Venus” march for organ. I also fed Trella, my branch president’s family pet rabbit.

As I promised earlier this week, today I will share some of the reasons why I liked not having my iPhone for a few days.

That Did’t Work

Today I woke up at 4am after not getting to bed until 9pm last night. I worked for 9 hours. I also fed the rabbit before coming home.

I tried taking a nap after work so I could go to institute but my body would not let me sleep.

I found a fatal flaw in the Windows version of iTunes 11.2.2 that prohibits Apple’s Mobile Device Support drivers from being installed. I was on the phone with AppleCare for over 2 hours before they decided they could not do more. Now, the case has been transferred to software engineers for help. They will get back to me on Thursday. In the mean time, no music on my iPhone.

Just Begin

Today I got back into my work routine by waking up at 3:30 in the morning. For being a Monday, I’m surprised I wasn’t tired at all.

I worked today for 9 hours, working on the tupperware line. 5 more weeks of this and then it’s my mission. Yes, I’m counting down the days.

I payed for my hospital bill today. I got the bill last week, but I was able to get a 12% discount for getting it paid off in full early. Now, I need to save up for my wisdom teeth being pulled.

Dang…it’s muggy!

I slept in until 6am today and immediately showered and got dressed to be at church by 7:15am. I played the organ for about an hour and a half, choosing hymns for today’s sacrament meeting and rehearsed several of my Sousa march arrangements and Clay Christiansen’s arrangement of “Love at Home.”

Because of the Munson’s being out of town, there were no early branch meetings.

Today’s lesson in Elder’s Quorum was given by all three members of the Quorum Presidency. Our Quorum President has made it a goal for us to learn about the duties and ordinances of the Melchizedek priesthood. Thom, the second counselor shared about service. Brad, our president shared a message about home teaching. Steven, the first counselor shared differences between saving and other ordinances.

When there’s nothing to do, go to Red Granite

I woke up today at 5:30 am, slowly getting back into my work sleep schedule.

Today, I bid farewell one last time to my computer as I dropped it off at the post office. I will never see my hard work ever again, but the time I spent using the computer and the time I spent building it was phenomenal.

Independence Day

I slept in until 6am this morning, a great way to kick off the 4th of July.

I got my computer packed up for shipment today, it will be sent out tomorrow. I’m really sad to be parting with that beast of a computer, but since I still (sorta) have an iPhone and my most important files that I use on a regular basis stored on the cloud, the transition away from having my own desktop computer has been made a lot easier. For about an hour I was stuck on trying to figure out kernel flags for starting up the computer, but after several manipulations, it worked out.
