Feast Week

Well, this week has been good to my taste buds. Boy how I love Thanksgiving! I love turkey, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, etc.

On Monday, I managed to ship the box with the shoes out. They apparently arrived on Friday so you should be able to return them now. For a zone activity we played chair soccer which was a bunch of fun and that was followed by teaching a less active member of our ward about the purpose of the Sabbath day.

Tuesday was once again weekly planning and then we visited a few people before knockout. What we didn’t realize then and we slowly began to realize as the week went on was that next to nobody would be home. It was a slow week in terms of finding people home.

Wednesday we had our district meeting. Before that we had a district lunch which was a lot of fun to get to know each other and be more unified as a district. We also have another companionship in our district, this time it’s a senior couple. It’s going to be a lot fun having them be with us. After knockout, we taught our new investigator Roberto about the purpose of the Book of Mormon.

Thanksgiving was both slow and hectic. We had a lot of people we planned to visit including investigators, former investigators, less active members, and potential investigators. All of whom did not seem to be home or were “about to leave.” We had a good day though. The senior couple who is not in our district but is in our ward had us over for our meal.

Friday, the Christmas initiative began. It is a great initiative. It is based on the scriptures, “I am the Light of the World” and “Ye are the Light of the World.” There is a sweet, simple video that explains it all on http://Mormon.org and it is based on the miracles that our Savior, Jesus Christ performed while in mortality and that we too can perform some of those same miracles.

Saturday and Sunday were fairly uneventful but Church was great. We were early to church because our ride had to be there super early. While we were there, a group of high schoolers from the local catholic high school were there. After the other ward’s sacrament meeting they interviewed us on our beliefs and how we live our beliefs. It was a neat, spiritual experience.
