Woke up at 3:45am to the sights and sounds of a thunderstorm. What a wonderful way to start a work week! Being in a fourth floor apartment, thunder is amplified tremendously, but I’m not complaining. I quickly rolled out of bed, turned on my video camera and hit record.

Unfortunately all the fun stopped at 6:25am when I went to work. I work at Walmart–enough said. I did get caught in the rain for about an hour, and unfortunately was inside for the duration of the thunderings and lightnings.

I got off of work at 4pm. When I got home, I immediately checked the mail and my new organ shoes had arrived. I then took a shower, as I did not want to smell like Walmart for Family Home Evening. My Mother measured me for dress shirts for my mission and then I headed out the door to pick up my friend Thom to bring him to FHE.

FHE was at the home of a friend named Morgan. I gave the lesson, based on Elder Neil L. Andersen’s general conference talk, “Spiritual Whirlwinds.” I chose this because it talked about tornados and given that there was a possibility of tornados yesterday evening, I jumped at the opportunity to do so. We then played a game that is very similar to Apples to Apples; you get a picture, everybody puts in a card to caption it, then the judge picks the winning caption, and finally whoever wins 5 pictures is the winner of the game. Between games, we ate ice cream sandwiches which were made by Ty. Finally, we played telestrations, which is a game of drawing a topic, somebody else guesses the picture and passes it on to the next person, then the next person draws the guess, and eventually comes full circle.

I finally got to bed at 10pm.
