Don’t worry about that title, it’s not as bad as it seems.
On Saturday, despite the fact that the dentist said I should be a couch potato for a few days after those darn wisdom teeth were pulled, I helped my Mom clean the church building in Appleton. I did do light work, thankfully. After we go done with that, we went to McDonalds so I could have some ice cream and Mom could have a burger. We also did a little bit of grocery shopping as well.
I feel like a really old adult being on like 4 different medicines at once. Painkillers are heavenly sent, imagine having your wisdom teeth pulled and being in 100% pain for days instead of taking something to relax it away. That’s not for me.
I woke up at 5am on Sunday, got ready for church and rehearsed on the organ for 2 hours. I did some improvising on Come, Come, Ye Saints which I really need to do my own arrangement sometime if I ever do a Tabernacle organ recital.
I missed out on Priesthood today because it took a good 15 minutes to print out the home teaching routes for President Gabor, our Elder’s quorum president. Then, I made a sign up sheet for the branch camping trip next month, of chorus OpenOffice is quite slacking and not as easy to use as Microsoft Office so it took longer.
In Sunday School, Chris Nieuwenhuis, gave a wonderful lesson on trusting in God and how that doing so will allow blessings to come. We also had an activity with drawing on the chalkboard (remember those?) the difference between how a wicked king and a righteous king would give direction to his constituents.
In Sacrament meeting, I chose hymns that reflected on Pioneer Day which was celebrated on Thursday.

We had three wonderful talks in Sacrament meeting.
Katrina spoke on how being a friend to others helps them to grow spiritually and you as well. These days are filled with people who are alone. We will be blessed when we are kind to others, and The Lord will love us too. Love is a language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see. – Mark Twain – Jesus probably felt alone and different from everybody else because he was the only perfect person to live on this Earth.
Ben gave a message on the subject of gratitude. TYFE – Thank you for every (thank God for everything that you have been blessed with before you ask for more things that you “need”). Gratitude can be a way of life. You can express gratitude by the way you live. – FTSOYP – Live with a spirit of gratitude. The best way to make our lives more glorious is to simply be grateful. To have a positive outlook on life, we must have an attitude of gratitude. It is gratitude that heals the soul.
Rachel gave great insight that the Melchizedek priesthood was named that so we wouldn’t use The Lord’s name too much. By the way we live our lives, we can reflect on the influence of Jesus Christ in our lives. Jesus Christ lives, the testimony recorded in the Doctrine and Covenants should be our testimony.
We had potluck after church, and because I had my wisdom teeth pulled, I couldn’t eat a single thing brought except for my ice cream . The theme for the potluck was supposed to be picnic but nobody adhered to it.
I came home and watched Music and the Spoken Word with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Lloyd Newell gave a beautiful message on Godly love.
“God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God” (1 John 4:16).
I came down with a migraine shortly thereafter and took an hour long nap.
