Today, I woke up at 4am again. I was a little tired, but thankfully it’s hump day, only 2 more days left this week! I worked again today for 9 hours.

Today after work I did a little bit of grocery shopping which included buying bananas and yogurt for making some homemade smoothies (yum!). I also started and finished an arrangement of John Philip Sousa’s “Transit of Venus” march for organ. I also fed Trella, my branch president’s family pet rabbit.

As I promised earlier this week, today I will share some of the reasons why I liked not having my iPhone for a few days.

1 The biggest reason I enjoyed not having my iPhone would have to be the fact that my phone wouldn’t keep buzzing with notifications every 5-10 minutes. I’m usually okay with the amount of notifications I receive, but to take a break from dealing with all of them is nice also.

2 It was nice these past few days with out my iPhone to be able to hold conversations (I can usually multitask between conversations and my phone with no problem) and not be distracted the from the person I’m talking to.

3 The chance to relearn how to use paper scriptures. Also to relearn how to flip through any paper book. It’s not that I couldn’t do it, it’s just very different than just tapping to go to a place in a book.

4 Knowing that when I serve my mission (with out an iPhone or other smartphone) that I’ll survive just fine with out it.

Despite all these positives about not having an iPhone for a week, after my mission I’m definitely going to still have an iPhone and that’s that!
